Candle manufacturing project for DIY candle maker: how to make grunge candles

Dirty candles are an easy and quick DIY candle to add to your home decoration. All it takes is 15 minutes from having a pillar in hand to the finished project and it is cheap to start. You can find the materials directly in your kitchen, garden and craft area. You don't need to be a candle maker to make and enjoy your own dirty candle.

Here is a little lesson on why primitive and dirty go hand in hand.

The word dirty is a slang term for dirty, dingy, grimy and dirty. It is used to describe dirty conditions or fashion features. Grungy is associated with primitive decoration due to its simple and rustic style.

Primitive means original, characteristic of an early stage of development, and self-taught artist.

When you make dirty candles, do you think about the early stage of the development of the manufacture of Candle Making and natural elements? I think of a simpler moment that uses a lot of creativity to decorate the home. When I create dirty candles, I think of candles with a realistic and homely touch.

Materials needed:

Wax candle or a ready-made pillar candle
Pillar silicone mold: if you don't have a pillar candle
Modge Podge
Spices, herbs, grated lemon or orange peel.
Fragrance oil Depending on the spice used, if you are making your own candle
Paint brush
Wax paper
Wick
Wick pin
Instructions: * Note: these instructions prevent you from making your own pillar candle
Melt the wax and pour it into a silicone column mold.
Take the wick pin and place it in the center of the mold.
Secure the wick pin with 2 bamboo skewers well attached
Remove the pillar from the mold, remove the wick pin from the center of the pillar and insert the wick into the hole
Place the waxed paper on a cookie sheet.
Add or mix spices on waxed paper
Take the modge podge, dip the brush in it and paint a strip next to the pillar candle
Roll or sprinkle the spices in that strip of modge podge
Then paint another strip down the candle and add or roll spices on that strip
Continue with the previous method until the pillar is completely covered with spices.
Seal the spices to the candle by applying more modge podge or by spraying the pillar with a matte finish sealer.
Let the pillar candle dry for 48 hours.
If you have enough wax, melt the wax and spray it on the candle. It will give a nice wax look to the sides.
Warning: this is not a candle to burn. If you decide to sell these grunge candles or give them away, be sure to place them with a "do not burn" warning label.

Add some dried apples and oranges, rose hips and dried herbs to a wooden bowl. Place your new dirty and primitive candle inside. Voila! Instant primitive decoration for your home.
