Tips for creating amazing digital scrapbooks

Digital scrapbooking is a creative way to showcase your memories. You can either start from scratch with a blank page or use a template to guide your design. How you want to create a digital scrapbook page is up to your creativity and smart. However, there are a few things you can do to make your scrapbook look professional and stand out. Here are a few tips for scrapbooking.

Where to place your photographs and items

You can place your photos and items in the middle of the page. However, it can be quite boring and may not have much visual appeal. Try to use the third rule to determine your focal points. What is the third rule? Imagine a tic-tac-toe grid on your side. Where the lines intersect, these are the best places to place your photographs. Visual artists tell you that people's eyes are naturally drawn to these points. When designing your page, move your photographs around and adjust the size and angles until you feel the page has a fine balance and mobile landing page.

Add words and Journalling

Words and journals are important because they tell the story behind the images. They also make your scrapbook unique and give it your personal touch. There are plenty of free smart fonts you can use. However, keep these smart fonts for headlines or if you want to highlight specific words. Plain typestyle is better for journalizing because it is easy to read. You can use quotes, poems and sayings to make your page more interesting. You can also write your words to form a particular shape. For example, let your text form a circle or even a Christmas tree!

Choose a theme

Designing a page is easier when you have a theme in mind. This way you can choose complementary decorations and colors. A good tip is to choose the colors and patterns you see in your photographs. You want everything on the page to bind to the theme. The colors you choose will set the mood for the scrapbook page. The embellishments bring life to the page and enhance it visually. For example, if you are scraping about your day at the beach, choose warm colors. Decorate with pictures of sandals, the sun, sunglasses and a beach ball.

Don't mess

I know it's fun to add cute embellishments and items to your scrapbook, but don't try to mess the page with too many things. This will only make the page look busy and distract the viewer from your photos. All the cute things you add to your design should be supporting features and not outperform your most important feature. Many editions of a scrapbook are great because of the empty space. So don't feel that you need to fill in all the fields on your scrapbook page.

Enhance your photos

Not all of us are professional photographers. Therefore, the photographs we take will look better for something to touch. Get a software that lets you get rid of red-eye, sharpen, crop and adjust brightness and color levels. Sometimes scraping the images in black and white or sepia looks better. It may sound complicated, but if you choose the right scrapbooking software, all of these adjustments require just a few mouse clicks.

One of the best ways to improve your scrapbook design skills is to see what others have done. You also need to be aware of magazine page layouts. No, I’m not suggesting that you copy exactly what they do, but rather look at, which makes their design comfortable. Maybe it was the way they paired the image or how they geometrically arranged photos and text. If you want to make beautiful scrapbooks, you still have to scrape because you know what they say, "Practice Makes Perfect."
